ABOUT BLACK MAGIC RECORDS

Black Magic Records was founded in the mid 1990's by Frank Carlino, Jr (Dj Voodoo) and Mike Scott Baldenhofer (The Liquid Method) in New Orleans, LA. The duo has a music studio in the back of their music store, The Sound Factory, which was one of the main cores of the New Orleans electronic dance community.

They launched a series of vinyl releases and remixes for labels including Caffeine, ESP Sun, Journees Music.

Frank did a mix cd, ElectroAcidFunk Vol 3, with Journees Music that was well received. Frank and Mike expanded their relationship with long-time friend Eric Lee and the Journees Music family and released a mix cd, Black Magic Journees. Several other cd projects followed including Dj Demonixx (alter ego of Mike Scott) with ElectroAcidFunk Vol 6.

After many years of constant touring, in the later part of 2003 Frank went on a leave of absence from dance music to focus on his family business at which time Mike started working on new projects under various aliases.

Frank is pursuing new projects and Mike currently operates Hexx Music. Journees Music is currently handling the Black Magic back catalog. If the past is an indicator of what's to come from Frank and Mike, rest assured, you will see lots of great music in the years ahead.
